Five Years, what a Blessing

Last Sunday at the closing of the service, I announced to the church that I would be stepping down as Pastor of Pineview Church.  My last Sunday will be February 17th.  Grande Cache has very much become our home and my family will not be moving away, but staying committed to serving this town and this church.

It has been truly an honor to be in the role I’ve had as Pastor of Pineview Church.  For five years I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside so many people during the significant moments of their lives.  In celebration and mourning, you’ve welcomed me into your lives and allowed me to share with you in these times.

I am extremely proud of the work God has done while I’ve been at Pineview Church.  It is important to emphasize the work is something that God has done.  Even if I am not pastor anymore, God will continue to be there and continue the momentum we have been building.  He brought our church down to its foundations and has been helping us build it back up on the cornerstone of Christ – making sure that grace, hope and fellowship centered on Him are the forces that drive our church’s culture.  So many of you have been a part of this journey, offering support in ways of time, finances, prayer, or even simply an encouraging presence and smile.  The community is as strong as I’ve ever seen it here, and that is because of the people in the church and their commitment to loving Christ, and sharing that love with others – acting as vessels of His grace.

The district office, along side multiple Alliance Churches in the area, are committed to helping through this transition time, making sure that Pineview Alliance Church has the resources, leadership and support it needs to keep the work we have been doing going strong, and continue to disciple as we continue to serve Grande Cache.

I will be at the Annual General Meeting for the church on February 24th to help facilitate and answer questions.  After that, I’ll be stepping away from the church for a short time to allow it to adjust to this transition phase without me in a pastoral role, after which I plan to return as a lay person as serve with the gifts God has given me.

Thank you for opening your lives to us.  With all sincerity, Pineview Church has been a place where I’ve been so blessed to serve, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store over the next few years.
